The Fruit Juice Science Centre is a science information body funded by donations from a wide range of orange producers, juice manufacturers and packaging companies based in Europe and Brazil.
Our mission is to provide evidence-based information to consumers, journalists and health professionals on the role of 100% fruit juice in diets and health.
We will do this by:
Commissioning and publishing high quality scientific research and working with a range of partners to deliver this;
Working closely with academics, healthcare professionals and industry scientists to understand how fruit juice impacts on health and wellbeing;
Clearly communicating the science on fruit juice in a balanced and transparent way.
Who we are
The Fruit Juice Science Centre is managed by José Marti and supported by a Scientific Expert Panel chaired by dietitian and health writer, Dr Carrie Ruxton.
Jose Marti studied international Business in University of Barcelona and University of Chicago at Urbana-Champaing.
Worked at Gillette/P&G for 17 years in different marketing/commercial responsibilities in Spain and abroad becoming VP Global Business Management with global responsibility for the brand Braun.
Last 15 years, he has worked for the leading European juice company, Eckes-Granini, starting as GM in Spain and later as SVP Marketing, R&D, Customer Development and Corporate Communications. He also was Vorstand member of Eckes AG.
Jose has been engaged with FJM program from the beginning being part of the team leading the project
Currently, he is Board Member of different companies in the FMCG industry
Carrie Ruxton PhD chairs the Scientific Expert Panel and leads on research and scientific content for the Fruit Juice Science Centre. She is a UK-based dietitian and health writer.
Governance is provided by representatives of our funders and we are legally hosted by AIJN, the European Fruit Juice Association.
